Stagecraft Theatre is an amateur theatre company. It was established in 1958 and operates from a venue at 13 Tonks Avenue, Wellington.

This house was built in 1906 for Kate Tonks, a local Wellington business woman. She was originally Kate Heyler, until she married Henry Tonks, a coal and wood merchant and Maori interpreter. Henry died at the age of 40, in 1884, leaving her to bring up five children. Kate subsequently built at least five houses, in what was then called Tonks Grove. The family began in what is now the furniture store, two down from what is Stagecraft. Number 13 is testament to Kate Tonks' business success.
