American University's Theatre and Musical Theatre Programs will provide you with the necessary training to develop the important presentation and verbal communication skills to enable you to star in, design, or direct a production and succeed in a variety of professions outside the theatre. The Theatre Program is grounded in a strong liberal arts education. You may focus your talent as a major in Theatre with tracks in Performance, Technical Theatre, or Arts Management. Students are introduced to a broad spectrum of contemporary issues encouraging them to develop their critical thinking skills and intellectual curiosity.
