Mr. Economus begins his directing for Viking Drama with a challenging series of "nonsense" plays based on the characters created in 1896 by Alfred Jarry in his Ubi Roi. Beneath the surface of the stories of these crude and rude characters lies a biting satire of today's world and the dangers which confront us if we are to live in peace and harmony. Truly a worthy effort and a meaningful message.

Ubu's satirical look at life proved to be a well chosen vehicle to learn about family and ensemble the Viking Drama way. Thanks to the wonderful direction of Mr. Economus and the outstanding performances on the part of our cast and crew, the production was a tremendous success.
