A lot can happen in a bathroom. And Cherry Red is just the theatre company to prove it. ("At times, things are so doody-pants infantile you begin to worry that [Cherry Red] will give bad taste a bad name!"-Wash. Post.) Don't miss out on the scum as we present 14 brand-new, teenie-weenie plays set in the john, the head, the can, the pot, the pisser, the shitter, the holiest of holies, the euphemism, or, whatever you want to call it: the bathroom.
Commissioned by Cherry Red, Dingleberries corrals the talent of a slew of local playwrights, as well as the rawest-of-the-raw punk writers from New York, L.A., and Chicago. Included are stinkin'-fresh atrocities from favorite writers of Cherry Red past: Billy Bermingham (Cannibal Cheerleaders on Crack, Shannen Doherty Shoots a Porno), Justin Tanner (Zombie Attack!), and Jeff Goode (Poona the Fuckdog and Other Plays for Children).
Brian Smith, who last toiled with tidbits on Day-Old Plays and Seven Deadly Dwarves, will direct this cluster of little treasures addressing such timely topics as: evangelical Christians, menstruation, talking toilets, Edgar Allan Poo, the Loch Ness Toilet Monster, and shit-eating conventioneers.
