And Cherry Red is just the theatre company to prove it.
Don't miss out on the scum as we present a workshop production of 19 brand-new, teeny-tiny plays set in the john, the head, the can, the pot, the pisser, the shitter, the holiest of holies, the euphemism, or, whatever you want to call it: the bathroom.
Commissioned by Cherry Red, Dingleberries corrals the talent of a slew of local playwrights, as well as the rawest-of-the-raw punk writers from New York, L.A., and Chicago. Included are stinkin'-fresh atrocities from favorite writers of Cherry Red past: Billy Bermingham (Cannibal Cheerleaders on Crack), Justin Tanner (Zombie Attack!), Jeff Goode (Poona the Fuckdog and Other Plays for Children), and Ian Allen (Angel Shit, Baked Baby).
Brian Smith, who last toiled with tidbits on Day-Old Plays and Seven Deadly Dwarves, will direct the reading. In choosing from the over 150 submissions received, Cherry Red's overzealous literary manager, Anton Dudley, choose a few too many. So ...
Come prepared to help us weed out the #2. The audience will be asked to vote on which Dingleberries they belong in our 2002-2003 season, and which belong in the crapper.
Stefan Aleksander, Judith Baicich, Fiona Blackshaw, Kevin Boggs, Bill Coates, Tony Greenberg, Rahmein Mostafavi, Gale Munro, Michael O'Connor, Melissa Schwartz, Vince Terlep, Shawna Thomas, and Stacey Whitmire.
