Dec 7, 1999 — 'REINDEER MONOLOGUES' SPEAKS LOUDLY AND CARRIES A BIG SHTICK.
By Elizabeth Maupin Sentinel Theater Critic. Orlando Sentinel.

Oddly, there appears to be a DIFFERENT review by the SAME critic listed as 1998 Is it possible that there was an earlier production I didn't know about? Or did the Orlando Sentinel misfile the review when it was digitized? https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwji5sDl-Ir-AhXPTTABHYOiD8gQFnoECBYQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.orlandosentinel.com%2Fnews%2Fos-xpm-1998-12-11-9812110384-story.html&usg=AOvVaw1s-PIMuqKV-1ZFGWaoBHUO

Dec 10, 1998 — By Elizabeth Maupin Sentinel Theater Critic ... You don't want to hear that The Eight: Reindeer Monologues is a biting look at the ...

FB messages 4/1/2023 You sent Hey, Mama Beth! I was trying to track back a photo from your 1999 production of THE EIGHT: Reindeer Monologues and the company "Civic Theatres of Central Florida" no longer exists Enter You sent I found articles about the Civic Theatre (singular) of Central Florida merging into Orlando Rep. But I am having trouble verifying whether that refers to the same company. Enter You sent Is Orlando Rep, in fact, a descendant of your company? Sat 8:38 PM Beth Beth Marshall What a fab surprise and welcomed email. So The Civic Theatres of Central Florida were in the same physical plant groupings of theatre spaces that The Orlando Rep currently resides. The space is the same and the now Artistic Director was the then Education Associate Director. He was the last man standing when Civic went down and Rep emerged. 3 stages have always been in the space: The Tupperware (100 seat Thrust Black Box) is where The Eight played. Back then it was the edgier space. Now it is the rental for indie groups. The mainstage did family shows and safe published works. The TYA did kids Theatre. Now (as The Rep) they only do very good children’s theatre and family shows for kids. They partnered with UCF to now be on the National Map. The Eight would be only done there now from a rental group because it would fit their mission now. When we did The Eight- I came on as Associate Producer because two of us were union at the time and I needed to do that to be able to do the show. However it wasn’t as BMP (my company) it was just as me. Hope all this helps clear it up! How are YOU?

Kringles Kristmas Kabaret begins when doors open at 7 p.m.
The Eight begins at 8 p.m.
The producer, writer, and cast of this year's runaway hit POONA THE FUCKDOG bring to Seattle Goode's anti- Christmas pageant THE EIGHT: Reindeer Monologues for a two-week benefit engagement at Re-bar, Seattle's popular venue for alternative music and comedy.
In Goode's internationally-acclaimed black comedy THE EIGHT, a media frenzy erupts when scandalous allegations are leveled at the North Pole s most prominent resident. As each legendary member of Santa s flying team comes forward to demand its share of the lime-light, a horrific tale of corruption and perversion emerges, implicating everyone from the littlest elf to the tainted Saint himself.
Each night before THE EIGHT will be the Kringles' Kabaret with live music and pictures on Santa's lap, so come early to join in the holiday fun!
