A nasty rumour has the public divided.

When accusations fly, of sexual abuse.
Find out if all this is just slander,
Or if the reindeer really do have some candor.
As Vixen speaks up, and so does Donner,
It seems that Santa is finally a goner.
But Comment stands to his defence,
The atmosphere becomes most tense.
Hear Blitzen, Cupid, Hollywood and Dancer,
And Dasher, their leader, each give their own answer.

TUESDAY 18TH NOVEMBER
15:00 - 17:00, PAS 4 (University of Winchester)

We are looking for 5 male and 3 female actors to portray Santa's reindeer in a dark comedy, telling the real story behind Christmas. Quick wit, improvisation skills and the ability to learn lines really really fast is a must! For your auditions, please prepare a 1-2 minute interpretation of any of the following characters:

DASHER - Militaristic leader, proud of his job and won't take any shit from anyone.
CUPID - Flamboyantly camp sex addict.
HOLLYWOOD - Exactly what his name suggests. (Originally Prancer)
BLITZEN - Opinionated and straight to the point, mildly pessimistic.
COMET - Rehabilitated drug addict who think Santa is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
DANCER - Gretschen Weiner from Mean Girls, a gossip queen who makes herself seem dumber than she really is.
DONNER - Rudolph's father, typical 'I accomplished nothing and therefore my child has to be the best' kind of parent.
VIXEN - Femme fatale accusing Santa of sexual assault.

Charlotte Mackenzie speaks to the Bogotá Anglo Theater director Tigre Haller about the company’s latest spine-tingling production: The Turn of the Screw

Written by Henry James in the 1800s, The Turn of the Screw is, in Tigre’s words: “A classic psychological ghost story.”

For those of you expecting a large cast, in this adaptation all the parts are played by two actors – Nathalia Franco and Tatiana Ronderos – leaving a lot to the audience’s imagination.

Tigre has certainly risen to the challenge of putting on a classic thriller. Regarding the casting, he tells us: “Part of our mission at the BAT is to cast English-speaking Colombian actors in lead roles where possible”. It is just one aspect that adds to the BAT’s charm, and a key element behind the company’s well-executed productions.

“It’s been very interesting, working with a smaller cast the dynamic is much more heightened. Here with just the two of them up on stage, their relationship off stage has to be extremely solid. They work extremely well together.”

The Turn of the Screw will be staged in El Pepino restaurant, meaning a daily reshuffle of the space: “We reconfigure the space to our needs each night – and then we put it all back for the lunch service.

“Pepino is a very intimate space, it works very well for The Turn of the Screw because the production needs to be in a smaller venue so that everyone feels that they are being told a ghost story around the fireplace – it certainly lends itself to that.”

And for all you Christmas lovers, the BAT are already well into rehearsals for their 2015 production: The Eight Reindeer Monologues. Featuring a larger cast, and a plot involving sexual allegations against Santa Claus, the production will be staged during December.

Seeking male or female for R Rated Xmas play (Derry NH)

I am seeking either a male or female to portray the role of Hollywood (AKA Prancer) in a production of The Eight: Reindeer Monologues by Jeff Goode. Show dates are Friday, November 20 and Saturday, November 21 at 8 p.m. at the VFW, 18 Railroad Avenue in Derry, NH.

The role is a straight comedic monologue that's less than 10 minutes, where Prancer is nicknamed Hollywood because of the film made with his/her name. The role is a narcissistic, ego oozing, self promoter. Think Matthew McConahay or Colin Ferrell for a man or a divaesque Kardashian type for a girl. Rehearsals are underway with th rest of the cast so we want to fill this spot quickly.
