The Pohutukawa Company would like to invite you to attend the 'The Eight' Reindeer Monologues, by Jeff Goode!

Join us for a night of wine and wit, hard-case characters and a scandal threatening the reputation of Saint Nick himself.

After a sellout extended season in Auckland, this sleeper international theatre hit is coming to Whangarei. Brought to you by the Pohutukawa Company, Jeff Goode's confronting, moving, and most of all, outrageously funny The Eight: Reindeer Monologues is a show NOT TO BE MISSED!!

Old Library, Rust Ave, Whangarei

Tickets: Adult $25 Student $15
Group Discount for 6+ Adult Tickets $20 each (only valid Mar 23th-26th)

The Eight are played by Kelly Johnson (Goodbye Pork Pie, Utu), Jan Fisher (Outrageous Fortune), William Walker (Rude Awakenings), Jarrod Martin (30 Days of Night), Brian Sattersfield, Des Wallace, Aleisha Boyes, & Charlotte Crossfield.

A play in which Santa molests and rapes his reindeer has been postponed until after Christmas for fear of shocking festive-spirited families.

Reindeer Monologues was to be performed in Whangarei but was postponed when producers began to fear children would come to the adult-themed performance.

Performances of Reindeer Monologues will begin on March 23 next year.

BWW Blogs: California Central Coast Mid-June Theatre Options
(Tuesday, June 15, 2010)

BroadwayWorld.com brings you theater recommendations from San Luis Obispo's own Curt Miner.

As we come to the middle of June (already?!), a number of our theatre and live entertainment venues have shows opening, or gearing up to do so, here on the beautiful California Central Coast!

The San Luis Obispo Little Theatre's (www.slolittletheatre.org) production of Sherlock's Last Case runs through June 20. [NOTE: attended the Saturday evening performance of opening weekend, and this is one of the cleverest whodunit productions I've ever seen on stage - WELL worth an investment of your time and entertainment budget!]

In addition,
You won't want to miss an encore performance of the dark reindeer-tell-all Christmas comedy The Eight: Reindeer Monologues on June 21 (adult language - NOT intended for children!) , and a readers' theatre presentation of Incorruptible, a farce by Michael Hollinger and directed by Jill Turnbow, on June 25.

Back for its 7th year!

"It may not be politically correct, but that doesn't mean it isn't screamingly funny." --Orange County Register

"The funniest (and filthiest) Christmas show in town. this is the naughtiest fun you'll have all holiday season." --Stage Scene LA

Our favorite team of reindeer still have plenty to say! So much, in fact, that this year's production will incorporate a roster of rotating performers so that you'll never see the same show twice!

Accusations, rumors and all-out attacks are flying fast and furious around Santa's toyshop this holiday season. Go behind the tinsel and hear the truth about Santa straight from the eight reindeer who know him best. When a doe says "No", she means "No Way, Sucka!"

This production contains foul-mouthed reindeer and is definitely not suitable for kids!

Want to know the truth about Santa and the elves? About Rudolph's little secret? About Vixen's story that was leaked to the press? The reindeer finally speak, and they are not holding back! Jeff Goode's play is a dark, dark, mature, alternative Christmas comedy where Scandal erupts at the North Pole when one of Santa's eight tiny reindeer accuses him of sexual harassment. As mass media descends upon the event, the other members of the sleigh team demand to share their perspectives, and a horrific tale of corruption and perversion emerges which seems to implicate everyone from the littlest elf to the tainted Saint himself. With each deer's confession, the truth behind the shocking allegations becomes clearer and clearer in all of its outrageous, comedic glory. The Eight: Reindeer Monologues is outrageous fun!

What is Theatre in the Raw?
To stay fresh, current and exciting we are introducing, "Theatre in the Raw", an escape from what some may call traditional theatre. "Theatre in the Raw" is being developed as a way to expose our audiences to the many wonderfully diverse, controversial, dark, funny, witty and different types of plays and or musicals that you might see in larger cities. These shows are not meant for everyone but they might be meant for you. This is theatre without all the bells and whistles. Here a director will take the script with an ensemble of actors and really work on presenting the play. No fancy lights or sets just a quality show and it's your opportunity to talk back to us. After each performance join us for an informal discussion about the play with the actors and director and give us feedback on what you thought and where we might go in the future.

I will be holding an audition for the Christmas show THE EIGHT: Reindeer Monologues on Friday October 29th at 7pm at Florintino building 2nd floor, acting room.

The show is an adult comedy where each of Santa's reindeer talk about the rumors and accusations that happened this year at the north pole. Santa is facing sexual harassment charges from Vixen, but everyone has a different story.

Needed 5 men 3 women. Each actor delivers one 6-10 minute monologue, so I need dedicated people who are disciplined enough to do a lot of learning on their own. Sides will be provided. Contact me here if you want to be sent sides ahead of time.

Rehearsal schedules can be very flexible since I'll work with everyone one-on-one for most rehearsals. The dates of performances and locations are not set yet, but I'm looking at Monday-Wednesday Dec. 20-22 hopefully with a night at Magelin's Landing a night at Tiki Bar and maybe a location in the city too.
