Play Reading Afternoons

Seven Santas

This month's Play reading social starts at 11am, Sunday 29th Sept, at Bargo Sports Club in the main lounge area.

This month's play is called "Seven Santas". Just come and join other interested members just to read a play and enjoy the time. There is no cost, and many stay afterwards for the Vintage Film that starts at 2pm on the same day, in the Club's large Function room.

The Play Reading starts at 11am, with the Vintage Film for this month (The Outlaw) starting at 2pm with enough time between them to get lunch at the Bargo Grill. "Seven Santas is not really a Christmas play", explained PTG's Publicity Officer Stephen Gummerson, "but rather a cynical look at the ordinary guys who dress as Santas each year, and what their life is like."

Seven Santas is written by Jeff Goode. There are 7 monologues from 7 different Santas then a short play at the end which includes all the Santas plus Mrs Claus. We will read the play first which is printed at the end and if there is time, read a couple of the monologues from the front section. They contain coarse language in part and have some twisted themes but look like a good read for something different.

You can purchase lunch from the bistro and drinks (including cafe beverages) as we socialise and read this play.

Bring along a friend - there is no pressure to read or expectations to be involved - just a great social afternoon.

Following this reading at 2pm is vintage film The Outlaw.

See you there!
